Daryl Garvin Named Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl Director of Operations
HONOLULU – Daryl Garvin has been named the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl Director of Operations, Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl Executive Director David Matlin announced today.
Garvin joins the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl after a couple of years at Coldwell Banker and a seven-year stint as a Honolulu-based Presenter of concerts and theatricals in markets as diverse as Honolulu, HI, Syracuse, NY, Chattanooga, TN, Asheville, NC, Cleveland, OH, and Augusta, GA. Garvin’s theatricals included Beauty and the Beast, Cats, Chicago, Footloose, Man of La Mancha, Miss Saigon, My Fair Lady, Rent, and South Pacific. He also brought to Hawai‘i five sold-out shows with Margaret Cho and four sold-out shows with Wayne Brady.
“Daryl has 20 years of experience in major event management,” Matlin said. “Having produced events that draw tens of thousands of people, his knowledge and experience will be a great asset to the Sheraton Hawai‘i Bowl.”
Garvin began his career in Washington D.C., where he managed the historic Warner Theatre. He later managed the Pier Six Amphitheatre in Baltimore, Md., successfully presenting a series of touring Broadway shows, concerts and festivals throughout the United States.
The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television. This year’s game between a WAC and Pac 10 representative will be televised live on ESPN from Aloha Stadium on December 24th. The University of Hawai‘i will be invited on behalf of the WAC if they are bowl eligible.
