Mailani

Featuring: Mailani

Singer-songwriter Mailani Makainai, who grew up in Kailua Town on O'ahu's Windward Coast, is part of a musical family. She started singing at the age of two and taught herself 'ukulele while in high school. Mailani is originally from the very successful, award-winning group, Keahiwai (with whom she won multiple Na Hoku Hanohano awards), and the rocking trio, Mighty J.

Mailani's self-titled debut solo album garnered her the prestigious "Female Vocalist of the Year" Award and proved that she had the ability to succeed as a solo artist. Her follow up album entitled 'Aina includes some of the expected contemporary swagger which her fans love, but there is also something really surprising that takes Mailani to a whole new level as an artist.

Tahiti Rey and Jason Alan

Tahiti Rey & Jason Alan, joined musical forces about two years ago and they've been playing side-by-side ever since. A quick peek at their monthly gig schedule makes it clear that offering a musical alternative in Honolulu for visitors and residents alike is paying off big time. Tahiti Rey is the youngest daughter of legendary entertainer, Augie Rey, and is an accomplished singer/songwriter with a Hawaii Music Award & Na Hoku Nomination. Jason Alan is a multifaceted talent, with a classically trained background as a pianist, guitarist, and vocalist. Rey and Alan's mix of contemporary acoustic soul and intoxicating two-part harmony is the perfect romantic accompaniment to sipping a cocktail and taking in a sunset in paradise. As we speak, the two are in the process of defining their stripped-down, authentic sound even further by writing and recording their first album together.

Kapala

Kapala is a unique blend of music veterans and close friends that have come together to make their own "Imprint" on today's music scene. The members of Kapala have backed up or been part of some of Hawai'i's finest groups and it is from this experience that Kapala draws its inspiration and desire to make their own mark. Kapala combines traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music with ethnic, jazz, rock, urban, and soul influences, creating a trailblazing style of music that is uniquely infectious, memorable, and at the forefront of today's music scene.
